The Glory of Children Are Their Fathers. Proverbs 17:6
Dear friends,
As we celebrate Father's Day on June 20, we want to thank God for the gift of having wonderful, responsible fathers who have so dutifully carried on their duties of fatherhood. Let us thank God for those fathers who are not with us today but have passed on to glory who have shared their love and commitment with us. Let us pray for those children who do not experience the love and care of their fathers, let us pray for those fathers who have abandoned their children.
To be a good father one must have a close and deep relationship with God. Jesus called God, Abba, which means father. He knew God intimately, affectionately, passionately and intelligently. A good father is loving, compassionate, tender, patient, kind, forgiving, instructing and disciplining; he is not critical, over strict, irritable, inconsistent, and not showing favoritism.
A father who possesses these qualities would transfer his spirituality to his children as commanded by the scriptures. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it".
Proverbs 22:6.
Children are a gift from God, We are to be God's good stewards in rearing the children we are blessed with. We need to be good role models to them so that they may grow up in the fear and knowledge of God. When we depend upon God, God will see us through the hard task of fathering. The scripture says, "In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths".
Proverbs 3:6
Happy Father's Day!
Have a safe and wonderful
Summer!
Grace and Peace
